Did you know 25 countries in Europe have scrapped all travel restrictions?

As an increasing number of countries across the world are dropping all restrictions, travel is progessively become easier!
Perhaps we have to thank Norway, because the Nordic country’s groundbreaking decision to scrap all entry requirements on 12th February, returning travel to its pre-pandemic normal, triggered something of a domino effect.
Iceland followed suit on 25th February, Britain on 18th March, and Denmark on 30th March.
However, what began as a trickle has become a deluge.
The era of Covid travel restrictions – in Europe, at least – is becoming a thing of the past, with the restriction map of the continent rapidly transforming from a hectic matrix of red, orange and yellow into a beautiful and calming sea of green.
Summer holiday favourites of Croatia and Greece were among the latest to join the club, with 1st May marking the date for a return to holidays devoid of red tape (your standard passport excluded).
Switzerland signed up for travel normality on 2nd May, making summer hiking holidays in the Alps just that little bit more enticing.
Serbia, North Macedonia, Bulgaria and Albania represent four more recently minted members of the green team. And from personal experience, Skiing in Bulgaria offers fabulouse value for money!
It means that, as of 4th May, an impressive 25 countries within Europe have scrapped every last travel restriction. No testing, no forms – regardless of vaccine status.
So... here are the countries:
And with more countries rumoured to follow suit, it's going to be too obvious for some destinations to make sense of keeping any travel rules.
Beyond Europe, a few countries have scrapped every travel barrier, including Mexico, Malaysia, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Cuba and the Maldives, but the rest of the world is largely playing catch-up.
But it's clear, even ones that have so far held on to restrictions, are slowly losening them further - so it it highly likely all travel restrictions will be gone in the not too distant future...
Yes, travel is definitely going retro - back to 2019 style travel...
So if you haven't booked a getaway yet, NOW would be a good time to do so!
Happy travel planning!
